Port Captain's Report October 2022

As the season is coming to a close there is an issue of boats on the grounds. When I check the on ground boats you may know I take pictures of all the boats that I count at the end of year or the start of the winter billing year which is November, that is the billing year for winter storage.

I will be checking and billing any boat that is on the grounds for winter storage in the first two weeks of November.  Check page 17 “2022 MOORAGE FEES" of the by laws. If your boat is on the grounds when I check you will be billed FOR THE TOTAL WINTER STORAGE. There will be no prorating after EYC has billed.

We would like everyone that is keeping their boats on the ground to have their name and OR numbers on the trailer as this helps in the checking of boats. Also please do not leave one and a half spacing between boats as we have several new members that will be storing boats for the winter. When I checked the center island last week there was a lot of wasted space so if you have placed your boat on the island please go back and check that you do not have a lot of wasted room between your watercraft and the one next to you.

Also please have the boats in the center island facing west for those who do not know which way west is: the lake is east.

Before the lake drains we will need to remove C Dock, and will be replacing it with new HDPE float Tube style docks like D Dock. So please do not park boats on the area by the fuel tank as we need that area for building the new C Dock like we have done in the past. We will also need to remove the broken section of concrete off of the lake bottom after they drop the lake.

Will be receiving the hardware for the new dock this winter, then the real fun will start.
